Economic Development
The Foundation’s objective of supporting rural communities in Bhutan to secure a better future through sustained livelihoods and enhanced access to financial services requires a holistic approach to economic development. By creating opportunities for income generation, promoting entrepreneurship, and enhancing access to financial services, the Foundation is working to uplift rural livelihoods and improve the economic well-being of these communities over the long term. Additionally, the Foundation works to enhance access to financial services, such as credit and savings products, to support economic development. By providing access to financial services, rural communities can better manage their money, invest in their businesses, and save for the future.
Economic empowerment is one of our focuses, as evidenced by forming more than 200 self-help groups. These groups are engaged in various income-generating activities, from weaving to agriculture, thus contributing to the economic growth of the communities.
